Waldorf Summer Sequence Program

The Summer Sequence Program offers two options: the Waldorf Certificate (28 credit minimum) and the Master of Education with Waldorf Elementary Specialization without New Hampshire Certification.

The Summer Sequence Program is designed for:

  • Class teachers who have not yet completed a Waldorf teacher education program
  • Special subject teachers (handwork, foreign languages, etc.) who want to do a full teacher training program
  • Parents who are considering becoming Waldorf teachers
  • Those who want to support their local school by understanding better the impulse behindhind Waldorf education and anthroposophy.

Students in this program convene for study in Wilton, New Hampshire over 3 summers—concentrating on supervised independent study and Master’s Projects back in their own environments during the school year.

The Waldorf Elementary Summer Sequence Program offers:

  • A sequential course of study that allows for a continuous dialogue between diverse subjects and experiences.
  • Intensive course work in July with seasoned Waldorf teachers from all over the world.
  • Practica and internships that allow for connections between courses studied and particular classroom challenges.
  • Artistic courses that develop valuable creative capacities for personal development and renewal, not to mention the art of teaching painting, drawing, movement, modeling, speech, and music.
  • In-depth exploration of Anthroposophy.
  • Research projects that allow participants to “follow” their questions over the course of an entire year, as well as learn the research methods that can help the teacher recreate and renew the curriculum to meet the demands of today’s children.
  • Participation in a learning community of over 100 students—allowing for a full experience of a K-12 Waldorf school.
  • Course work, lunches, and community activities in July that encourage association and networking with the 25 to 30 different Waldorf schools represented.
  • Exhilarating and demanding summer intensive sessions in a retreat setting on the scenic hilltop campuses of two adjacent Waldorf schools in Wilton, NH.
  • Personal, social, and professional connections with individuals and schools that can last a lifetime.
