Waldorf Summer Intensive - Waldorf Program - Education - Antioch University New England
Waldorf Summer Intensive
Regardless of which specific program students have enrolled in, students in the Waldorf Teacher Training Program begin their studies in Wilton, NH with a 3-week intensive. Summer Sequence students attend 3 sequential July intensives, with the remainder of their work done from their home in the interim semesters. Year Round students attend 2 sequential July intensives, with the remainder of their coursework done 2-3 days a week in Keene at Antioch University New England during the fall and spring semesters. After the final July intensive is finished, students enrolled in a Master’s degree Waldorf program may have additional semesters of internships/practica and/or Master’s Projects to complete.
The 3-week July intensives are held in Wilton, NH. Coursework is completed at the Pine Hill Waldorf School (an elementary level school). Dining and limited housing facilities are available across the street at the High Mowing School (a Waldorf high school). Faculty are brought in from all over the country, (and the world, in fact) to teach a variety of courses. Although students typically take courses only with others in their same program (Summer Sequence or Year Round) there are many opportunities throughout the 3 weeks to connect with students in the other programs, including the opening ceremony, daily meals, weekly community meetings, a demonstration night, and finally, the graduation of the finishing year groups on the last day of the session.
