Waldorf Certificate
Program Sequence
The Waldorf Certificate Program is a summer entry program:
- Minimum number of required semesters: 5
- Expected study sequence: Summer, Spring, Summer, Spring, Summer
The Waldorf Certificate is available to individuals who are solely interested in pursuing training as a Waldorf teacher. (Applicants without a BA must have at least 60 credits and have experience in education.)
The degree requirements are:
First Summer (Classes are held for three weeks in July in Wilton, NH)
- Research for Personal and Social Change
- Human Development and the Waldorf Curriculum
- Anthroposophy: Projective Geometry
- Eurythmy I, Painting I (Goethean Color Study), Speech I
- Singing and Pentatonic Recorder
- Bothmer Gymnastics/Games
First Spring (Completed in home environment during the school year)
- Supervised Independent Study
Second Summer (Classes are held for three weeks in July in Wilton, NH)
- Evolving Consciousness
- Curriculum Seminar
- Today’s Child: Contemporary issues such as social inclusion
- Eurythmy II, Speech II, Singing II
- Drawing, Painting II (Curriculum)
Second Spring (Completed in home environment during the school year)
Third Summer (Classes are held for three weeks in July in Wilton, NH)
- Science Curriculum
- Foundations of Human Experience
- Arts to accompany Foundations of Human Experience
- Social and Organizational Issues
- Math and Reading
- Music Curriculum
- The Adolescent
- Optional one-week institutes on specialized themes
