International Teaching OpportunitiesSemester in Auroville, IndiaFor twenty years, a teacher exchange program has been flourishing between Antioch University New England (AUNE) and Auroville, India. Students in the Elementary/Early Childhood Teacher Certification Program (Integrated Learning Program) have the option of spending their final fall semester in Auroville (an intentional, international community in southern India) and completing their second internship working in Auroville schools and/or on environmental sustainability projects in the community. Required courses for the semester may be completed online. Housing, dining in the community's solar kitchen, and internships are organized by professor emerita Heidi Watts, formerly co-chair of the Department of Education at AUNE and currently educational consultant to Auroville. Two Weeks in El Rosario, Honduras![]() Students in the Elementary/Early Childhood Teacher Certification Program (Integrated Learning Program) enjoy the opportunity to join Antioch University New England alumna Lisa Bisceglia for a May inter-session field study in Honduras. Since 2003, students have traveled with Lisa to teach and learn with children and teachers from El Rosario and outlying villages. They work collaboratively with Honduran teachers creating educational tools, planning and implementing after-school workshops for teachers, exploring the workings of the local educational system, and working with children, grades K-12, in a variety of settings.
