Factors predicting treatment retention and sobriety at an outpatient acupuncture detoxification program
Nancy Ann Carlucci (1999)
This study identifies demographic, drug use, treatment and clinical variables related to treatment retention and sobriety for 150 outpatients at an acupuncture detoxification program. Medical charts were selected and data was collected from clients who sought treatment over a one-year period. A series of chi-squares was used to determine differences among characteristics of retainers and dropouts. Discriminant function analyses was used to determine significant independent variables that predict two dependent variables: sobriety and retention at the end of one month of treatment.
