Dose-effect in inpatient treatment
Lisa Ann Garrone (2001)
Day-to-day symptom change was investigated for adult psychiatric inpatients (N = 47) from a suburban community general hospital. Patients completed both the Brief Client Rating and Basis-32 each day (dose) of their inpatient hospitalization. Repeated Measures Analysis of variance (ANOVA), along with Jacobson and Truax's (1991) method for measuring reliable change (RC) and clinical significance (CS) were used on three separate analyses for each measure. The results showed that there was a dose-effect with each day of treatment and that the most significant change in symptom reduction occurred very early in the hospitalization.
