Included graduate course work, many leadership and membership experiences, the teaching of a graduate course, and the development of a group oriented Counseling Center service delivery program. With J. R. Burnham, created and developed two 4-day sequences of Police Training for rural officers with at least 15 years of experience that involved a number of formal presentations. These workshops were offered in a number of sites around Michigan.

Hypnosis training and practice
1977-

Beginning in a Hypnosis in Clinical Practice Workshop, Pennsylvania Hospital Institute/University of Pennsylvania, Department of Psychology, 1977, and followed by additional individual training and supervision from Peter Smith (and much later group training with Peter Baldwin), clinical hypnosis is an aspect of my clinical practice.

Management and administrative training
1979-80

A required part of my administrative role as NMU Counseling Center Director was of formal management and administrative training. The first of a sequence that was Management by Objectives Seminar, Dr. Arthur X. Deegan, Consultant. I consulted informally to a number of university units.

Ethical Issues
1979-

Beginning as a part of the responsibilities of a Counseling Center Director, I developed an interest in ethics and have often consulted informally about such issues. Focused training began with a Mental Health Law, Professional Ethics, and Client's Rights Workshop, University of Michigan School of Social Work in 1979, and has included Risk Management Training from the APA Insurance Trust and a number of workshops.
