Wanted: Good Writing for the Next Whole Terrain

Whole Terrain, AUNE’s literary journal of reflective environmental practice, has put out a call for submissions for its 2012/2013 volume. The theme is “Heresy.”

The public is welcome to submit personal essays, investigative journalism, short fiction, creative nonfiction, visual art, graphic novel excerpts, and poetry that investigate all aspects of heresy. Prose submissions are limited to 2,000 words and should be double-spaced, with pages numbered and word count noted. Poetry submissions may contain up to three pertinent poems. Deadline for submissions is December 31, 2012. Find out more about submissions here.

Whole Terrain,, which began as an internship for Environmental Studies students, published its first issue in 1992 and is celebrating its twentieth year. The 2008-2009 volume, ((r)e)volution, won an Award of Recognition in the 2010 New England Regional Awards of Excellence Competition, presented by the Printing Industries of New England.

Each year, Whole Terrain gives the New Terrain Award, worth $500, to an outstanding essay by an undergraduate writer, whose work is then published in Whole Terrain. Find out more about the New Terrain Award here.
