The tutors at the AUNE Writing Center look forward to working with students this summer, during June and July.
John Dunham, an environmental studies student, will provide tutoring on most Wednesday and Thursday evenings. As a tutor during the 2011-2012 school year, his student reviews were outstanding. Sarah McVicar, a candidate for the MBA in Sustainability, has been hired to tutor this summer as well. She has years of tutoring experience and she professionally tutors writing outside of AUNE.
Writing support is available at all stages of paper development. Before a paper is written, for example, a student can come in to the Writing Center to discuss content and organization. Once a draft is in hand, a student might come in to work on revision or get guidance on proofing. Writers at all levels benefit when their papers are reviewed by a second set of eyes.
The Writing Center is located in the library. Summer hours are posted on the door and on the Writing Center’s web page. Visit www.antiochne.edu/writingcenter for details on how to register and reserve hour-long slots. Students are also welcome to drop in—first come, first served. Tutoring is available face-to-face, and via Skype by prior arrangement.
Free writing support is also available virtually, through Antioch University’s (AU) Virtual Writing Center. Operating out of Seattle, it provides free writing support to students at all AU campuses. Learn more by going to portal.antioch.edu, click on Teaching and Learning Commons, and scroll down to Virtual Writing Center.
