Registration Opens for Northeast Climate Change Preparedness Conference

Registration is now open for the LOCAL SOLUTIONS: Northeast Climate Change Preparedness Conference to be hosted by Antioch University New England and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on May 19-21, 2014, in Manchester, New Hampshire.  Participants will learn how to use related tools and best practices from case studies to help build healthy, resilient communities.

There are a variety of registration options.  Attendees can sign up for all three days of conference workshops, sessions, and special programs, or other packages for individual days and events. The third day’s track is specific to fostering preparedness linkages between schools and communities.

The agenda includes more than 20 sessions with representatives of more than 30 national, state, and community agencies, organizations, and businesses.  Sample topics:

  • Adaptive Regeneration: Why Resilient Forests Matter
  • Buildings in Harm’s Way: Decision-Making Within Fluid Grids
  • Reaching Beyond the ‘Usual Suspects’: How to Bring People to the Table
  • Responding to the Surge: Coastal Buffers

The conference is a great opportunity for local planners, educators, elected officials, and other professional municipal and county decision-makers to network and learn how to better prepare for severe weather and climate change impacts in the Northeast.  It is designed for participants from throughout the region, from the northern Chesapeake Bay to the Eastern Maritime provinces in Canada.

Register now. Early bird pricing is available until March 1, 2014. Invite your networks to join us!
