Prof Shannon Hodges Garners Research Awards

Specialists in Group WorkAntioch University New England’s Shannon Hodges, associate professor and director of clinical training in AUNE’s Department of Applied Psychology, has received two major honors. Shannon and colleagues at Niagara University have been awarded the Association for Specialists in Group Work’s 2009 Research Article of the Year. This award is given for the best research published in the seventeen American Counseling Association journals.

Their article “Considerations for School-Based Intervention,” also won the 2009 Research Award for the Journal for Specialists in Group Work. Specialists in Group WorkShannon’s Niagara University co-authors are Kris Augustyniak, Morgan Brooks, Vince Renaldo, and Roselind Bogner. The authors will accept their awards at the upcoming American Counseling Association luncheon on March 18 in Pittsburgh.

Shannon joined the Applied Psychology faculty in August of 2009. He has almost two decades experience providing individual, couples, family, and group counseling to adolescent and adult populations.
