Antioch University New England is pleased to announce that Kevin Lyness, PhD, director of AUNE’s Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) master’s and doctoral programs, was recently elected to be a commissioner of the national accrediting body for the MFT field.
Kevin will serve the Commission on the Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) for three years. He will work with nine other commissioners, seven professional members, and two public members throughout his term.
“I am honored to have been elected,” said Kevin. “COAMFTE’s work is important, not only as a credentialing requirement for MFT programs, but as an assurance to the public and consumers.”
COAMFTE, recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, accredits MFT master’s degree, doctoral degree, and post-graduate degree clinical training programs throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Dr. Lyness is an associate professor, associate chair, and director of Antioch University New England’s Marriage and Family Therapy programs in the Department of Applied Psychology.
