Register for In Bloom | Learn Best Practices in Nature-Based Early Childhood Education

For the fifth year, AUNE will host “In Bloom: Best Practices in Nature-Based Early Childhood Education” at three locations across New England. Register today for one of the innovative full-day conferences for around $100. (See registration pages for details.) Conference dates include March 26, 2016, at the Kittery Community Center in Kittery, Maine; May 12 at AUNE in Keene, New Hampshire; and June 13 at Shelburne Farms, in Shelburne, Vermont. Stay tuned for more details on an additional conference slated for October in Santa Barbara, California.

Participants will learn from expert educators who are redefining what’s possible in early childhood education. New nature preschools and forest kindergartens are cropping up each year in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. There’s a flurry of preschool and public school kindergarten and elementary teachers implementing Forest Days, where one day a week children stomp in puddles, whittle sticks, paint their faces with charcoal, take care of animals AND expand their vocabularies, do real math, conduct investigations and develop resilience in nature-based programs. Each “In Bloom” conference will feature  nationally recognized keynote speakers in addition to workshops led by local practitioners. All events will focus on the educational and health benefits of children being in the natural world.
