CMHC recently hosted a Field Supervisors’ and Interns’ Day. The day long event is an integral piece of students’ professional training. It is held each year and brings students together with their internship field supervisors and their pro sem leaders to evaluate their progress in meeting their goals and to provide valuable feedback on their counseling skills.
Ken Bacon, Senior Associate Professor, is the Director of Clinical Training and coordinates all internship activities for CMHC.
A continuing education workshop was provided in between the Traineeship Meetings. Janine Roberts, EdD, spoke on “Transparency and Supervisor/Trainer Self-Disclosure in Supervision and Training.” Dr. Roberts is the past President of the American Family Therapy Academy, and Professor Emerita at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. At noon field supervisors and students enjoyed a catered lunch.
Over 90 field supervisors and students attended the traineeship meetings and the CEU presentation.
