AUNE Student Recruits Goats on Martha’s Vineyard

Kristen Fauteux,  director of stewardship for the Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation (SMF) and a student at Antioch University New England (AUNE), has enlisted goats as part of her land management plan for SMF’s Cedar Tree Neck sanctuary in West Tisbury, Massachusetts. She hopes the goats can help eradicate the invasive bittersweet.

It’s part of Kristen’s  graduate research for her master’s degree in Resource Management and Conservation from AUNE’s Department of Environmental Studies. You can read about it in the Martha’s Vineyard Times story titled Greening Martha: Goats and Sheep Help Martha’s Vineyard Land Organizations with Weeds.
