Sequence of Study

The 12-credit Autism Disorders Spectrum Certificate Program is designed to be completed in nine months. In your first semester, you focus on core competencies. The second semester presents additional core courses integrated with an advanced specialty course in your chosen area of certification.

Core Courses—9 Credits

  • Foundations of Autism Spectrum Disorders (3 credits)
  •  Sensory Issues of Individuals on the Autism Spectrum (1 credit)
  •  Training in the Social Use of Language (1 credit)
  • Educational Interventions I (1 credit)
  • Working with Older Teens and Adults on the Spectrum (1 credit)
  • Advocacy Applications for Individuals on the Autism Spectrum (1 credit)
  • Assistive Technology with ASD (1 credit)

Advanced Specialty Course (choose one)—3 Credits

  • Advanced Educational Interventions for Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Pragmatic Language Groups: Advanced Assessment and Interventions for Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Positive Behavioral Support
  • Classic Autism: Advanced Assessment and Intervention
