Autism Spectrum Disorders Workshops and Events

The Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders Training offers courses and workshops that focus on the training needs of professionals working with individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. The center runs the Autism Spectrum Disorders Certificate Program, and the Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate Program, as well as Autism and Asperger related conferences and pragmatic language workshops.

Antioch University New England (AUNE) is pleased to offer continuing education contact hours for each of these workshops. Each day of programming must be attended in its entirety in order for participants to receive credit. Partial credit will not be awarded.

Regularly Offered Workshops

Fall 2016 Dates & Times to be announced

  • Foundations of Autism Spectrum Disorders – This course is 3- graduate credits in 15-weekly modules starting August 28th. Classes are held online, so one can learn from the convenience of your home!   The course is rich is video and interactive activities. This course will focus on the diagnostic criteria for ASD, early identification of ASD, evaluation and assessment.  Students will explore the history of ASD and examine topics such as ASD in females, genetic research, neurodiversity, increasing rates of diagnosis, ASD in adults, new findings in the field and much more.  To register or for more information contact Shelley Viles,
  • Training in the Social Use of Language – 1-graduate credit, learn about pragmatic language challenges of individuals with ASD and explicit techniques to promote social communication. This 2-day course is offered face-to-face on Sat. Oct 22 and Sat., Nov. 12.  To register or for more information contact Shelley Viles,
  • Behavior Technician Competencies Course – 3-graduate credits, the Behavior Analyst Certification Board has added a new credential, Registered Behavior Technician, for those who do direct implementation of behavior plans that are designed by supervisors. This course is delivered in a face-to-face format, dates and times, TBA.  This course is offered either for a certificate of attendance or for graduate credit.

Degree and Certificate Programs

Autism Spectrum Disorders Certificate Program
The 12-credit graduate certificate program, completed in two semesters, is designed for educators, special educators, administrators, counselors and other professionals or parents who need more in-depth knowledge of ASD to better serve the individuals with whom they work. This program delivers a convenient mixture of face-to-face classes held on the weekends, and online coursework.  The learning from the certificate program is immediately applicable in work settings.  Accepting applications for fall.

Applied Behavior Analysis Masters or Certificate 
This program is designed for individuals who want a new career as a behavior specialist and to earn the BCBA credential.  Coursework is conveniently held on weekends, once a month, with face-to-face delivery at our Keene, NH campus.  Students continue to work while they study, by using their job (if it qualifies) as a way to gain experience hours. 21-gradute credit certificate program and 33-graduate credit Masters of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis.  Excellent career opportunities in this field! Certificates of Attendance will be issued to all participants.

National Board-Certified Counselors
The Department of Applied Psychology of Antioch University New England is an
NBCC-approved Continuing Education Provider and may offer NBCC-approved
clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. AUNE is solely responsible
for all aspects of the program. (Provider #4338)

Antioch University New England is approved by the American Psychological
Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. AUNE maintains
responsibility for the program and its content.

Marriage and Family Therapists
Antioch University New England is recognized by the New Hampshire Association
of Marriage and Family Therapy to offer continuing education. We adhere to
NHAMFT continuing education guidelines.

Speech Pathologists
These activities may be used to meet the ASHA certification maintenance
requirement if you determine that (1) the content is relevant to your area of practice
and your practice setting and (2) you are in your 3-year maintenance interval. You
do not need prior approval from ASHA to use this activity. You will be provided with
the appropriate documentation of attendance. For more information on acceptable
