Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnoses are burgeoning, presenting unique challenges for educators and therapists. Antioch University New England heard the urgent call for training and established this Center to deliver in-depth knowledge in this area. Through the Autism Spectrum Disorders Certificate Program and a variety of continuing education workshops and courses, Antioch University New England provides essential training so you can better serve individuals on the autism spectrum.
Currently practicing counselors, psychologists, educators, special educators, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, tutors, parents and advocates will benefit from this specialized training. We focus on working closely with higher-functioning individuals on the spectrum, including those with Asperger Syndrome, High Functioning Autism (HFA), and Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS).
Study with remarkable faculty.
The Center has gathered the foremost authorities on individuals on the autism spectrum. Faculty members include national presenters, published authors, and attentive, expert faculty who strive to make a difference.
Keep your job while you earn your certificate.
Our delivery model is designed to accommodate working professionals. Students come to class only one weekend every three to four weeks, so you can gain the education you need without putting your career on hold.
Master's Program Options
You have the option of simultaneously pursuing an MEd in the Foundations of Education with a concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorders. I also run support groups for parents, pragmatic social skills groups for students, and present workshops to educators from across the country."
