Horatio Colony Nature Preserve

Adventures in Keene's Wildlands

A series of twelve outdoor adventures is planned and coordinated each year. The purpose of the programs are to engage community members in exploring the natural and cultural history of the Horatio Colony Nature Preserve. The programs were originally designed in collaboration with Keene High School Advanced Placement Environmental Science students, community members and local organizations during the fall of 2000. The series is supported through a partnership between ANEI's and Horatio Colony Nature Preserve, and Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS). Programs are free, open to the public, and described in PDF below.

The series is primarily planned and facilitated by ANEI Project Directors and Antioch graduate students working for ANEI. EMS partially funds the annual “trails day” and conducts outdoor gear clinics as components of various programs.
