The Plant Communities Project

Studying Plant Communities The Plant Communities Project was supported by a partnership between the Horatio Colony House Museum and Nature Preserve, Antioch New England Institute, and Monadnock Regional High School (MRHS). MRHS tenth grade biology students conducted field research to identify and explore unique plant communities at the Preserve. During the Fall of 2005, students mapped out and studied vegetation along multiple transects. They followed up on this work in the Spring of 2006 by using Global Position System (GPS) units to locate and then solve ecological mysteries. Antioch University students were integral in designing and leading students through this project work.
