Coordinated Use of the Horatio Colony Nature PreserveThe ANEI Project Director and Antioch graduate students engage and coordinate the community in its use of the Preserve. The use of the hiking and interpretive trail is managed with local and regional schools, adult education classes, conservation organizations, and other groups of the Monadnock Region. Antioch University New England and Keene State College faculty are encouraged to use the Preserve as an educational and research resource. Through this work, the project is able to track and document the use of the site. If you guided or were part of a group that used the Preserve for a program or class, click on our Site Use Form to inform us of the activities. The Project Director and graduate students informally educate day visitors and answer questions as they meet and greet day visitors during work days in the field. Topics of trail-side conversation often include Preserve history and ecology, trail maintenance techniques, and use-of-site guidelines. A public program series is designed and offered in conjunction with Eastern Mountain Sports. The series is entitled: “Adventures in Keene's Wildlands”.
