The Keene Forum on Violence

Meeting Making Keene Safer, 2001.
In recent history the quiet city of Keene was rocked by a highly-publicized stabbing incident. A citizen group formed. In the group's early stages, however, they had little sense of direction. ANEI became involved and forged connections with key experts. An Antioch University New England Psychology professor joined the group to create and administer a community survey that could accurately assess the problem of violence in Keene. The survey revealed some surprising results. For example, one in five women living in Keene reported being sexually assaulted in her lifetime. The survey results were evaluated systematically by the Psy.D. Department at Antioch in order that a realistic and effective program of action could be devised.
