Keene Pathways, 1993-1995

People on bikes Countering Car Culture, 1993-1995.
As an alternative to an automobile, a bike is a great commuter vehicle. Bike riding is healthy for the rider, contributes no emissions to the atmosphere, and cuts down on road congestion. Getting community support for a bike path, however, can be a complex process. In collaboration with the City of Keene and a local citizens' group named Pathways for Keene, ANEI engaged the citizens of Keene in planning and building an extensive bike path throughout the City. Now it is possible to get safely from Keene's west side straight into the heart of downtown on two wheels instead of four.
