Cheryl Wilfong, MA, '93

Cheryl Wilfong, MA, '93 Cheryl lives in rural Vermont with the same neighbors who cooperatively bought 81 acres in 1979. She is also a member of Putney Commons, a co-housing community in Putney.

She is a Community Dharma Leader (certified by Spirit Rock Meditation Center) and teaches meditation classes and leads 1-day retreats. She goes on retreat herself for 6 to 8 weeks every year. She is treasurer of the Board of Directors of Vermont Insight Meditation Center.

With her life partner Bill, she travels to 2 or 3 faraway places every year.

Her book Following the Nez Perce Trail: a guide to the Nee-Me-Poo National Historic Trail with eye-witness accounts, 2nd edition, was re-published in 2006.

A devoted gardener, this fall she is self-publishing The Meditative Gardener: Cultivating Mindfulness of Body, Feelings, and Mind.

Although retired now, Cheryl was formerly a psychotherapist, an accountant, a financial consultant, and a human services administrator.

In addition to a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University New England (1993), she also has a Master's degree in Intercultural Management (1974) from the School for International Training. At heart, she is a life-long learner.
