At its six campuses, Antioch University enrolls more than 3,500 students, with about 75% being graduate students. Antioch College, the residential undergraduate liberal arts campus in Ohio, has fewer than 300 students.

Antioch New England was the first major learning center established away from Antioch College. In 1964 Antioch New England began putting down its roots and serving the region, bringing Antioch’s distinctive blend of quality, innovation, and service to New England.

Antioch College was founded over 150 years ago, when social reformer and abolitionist Horace Mann turned down the nomination for governor of his native Massachusetts and set out by train, stage, and boat down the Ohio River to become the first president of Antioch College.

In 1857 Antioch College became the first private college to admit women to an equal curriculum and was among the first to admit African-American students. In 1921 it introduced the first cooperative education plan for a liberal arts college by integrating work and academic study.
