Practice-Based Learning

Students in all twenty-three master’s degree programs and two doctoral programs offered at AUNE must complete as many as 600 hours of practical experience related to their fields. Examples of this work range from students in the Environmental Studies program helping local towns protect drinking water supplies to psychologists-in-training offering low-cost counseling services to those who seek them.

“The classes here are never just about gaining knowledge. They incorporate exercises that require the application of the concepts learned. It becomes true knowledge as opposed to memorized facts.” —Liz Newman, Environmental Advocacy Student
