Experienced Waldorf Educators Program - Education Department: Antioch New England

Waldorf Experienced Educators MEd Program

We will enter a new group for this program in Summer 2009. The dates for the summer intensive are June 28th-July 10th.

This option is for teachers with a minimum of seven years of Waldorf experience. This two-summer (13-month), research-based program includes advanced-level courses in focus areas. It also involves practicum work, supervised independent study, and a master’s project during the academic year.

Program Highlights

  • One-year MEd program
  • Low-residency - Two summer residencies at Pine Hill School in Wilton NH and independent work at your home school in the intervening Fall and Spring

This program is designed for Waldorf educators who...

  • have seven or more years of experience
  • want to take advanced work in specialized focus areas
  • need a deeper, more tailored approach to their advanced Waldorf education
  • might have completed unaccredited teacher training in the past and now want to earn a fully accredited university master's degree

Specialized focus areas:

All courses will be taught on an advanced level. For example, rather than taking an introduction to color or curriculum painting, students will do veil painting and consider therapeutic aspects of color exercises. Likewise, the Anthroposophy courses will work with advanced texts usually not covered in Waldorf teacher training programs. The overall aim is to move beyond the study of content to the active engagement possible through spiritual scientific research.
