Earth Week Calls for Healthy Communities, Healthy Planet

AUNE organizes Monadnock Earth Festival April 21 and a week of activities

(Keene, NH) — Antioch University New England (AUNE) celebrates
Earth Week April 15-21, capped by the Monadnock Earth Day Festival on Saturday,
April 21, at the Keene Recreational Center.

The theme of this year’s Earth Week is Healthy Communities, Healthy Planet. It will be
filled with family-friendly events and activities, including service projects, in the spirit of
working toward a healthy community and healthy planet.

All events are free and open to the public. Here’s what’s going on:

Ongoing events

  • Read-n-Walk.
    Self-guided Story Trails in Ashuelot and Robin Hood Parks will be
    available through May.

Sunday, April 15

  • Bird Watching Walk with Will Broussard
    Will Broussard of AUNE will stroll through Ashuelot Park, a premiere birding location.
    Meet at 8 a.m. for a walk that will take a couple of hours. Bring binoculars if you have
    them.

Monday, April 16

  • Container Gardening Workshop
    Hosted by AUNE’s Sustainability and Social Justice Committee, 11:45 a.m. to 12:45
    p.m. at AUNE, 40 Avon Street. Contact Rachel Brett at rbrett@antioch.edu
  • Tapped: Viewing and Discussion
    Keene Public Library, 60 Winter Street, Keene, 7-9 p.m.
    After the documentary Tapped, there will be a short discussion.
